Like anything, it needs to be a balance. My friend growing up always used to spend all his money he got from working every week and when we got on his case he would say "what else is it for?" And he was both right and wrong I guess. But that attitude, even if the rest of us didn't quite go that far, kept a lot of us more carefree than our parents might have preferred.
