I loved the medallion. And I enjoyed the descriptions of the three people. My issue with this is the lack of seeming connection between the two parts of the tale. In a short story, links have to be evident, else they are two separate tales. That's possible, of course, but the format didn't indicate this. I admit to being a bit bewildered.
